al doilea joint chestionabil intr-un club friendly ne-a bucurat din nou ca a strans la un loc lumea misto care ne place si dj-ii locali pe care ii avem pe repeat&heartbeat. all in all, dupa cum am primit feedback, a fost mai bine ca prima editie, mai ales pentru ca am avut in focus acest duo care a strans ce-i mai bun din aroma party-urilor din Big Apple-ul anilor optzeci (creatorul hercules and love affair, dj-ul andy butler, a crescut cu mixtapurile unuia dintre ei iar fratii soulwax se declara influentati de aceleasi compilatii). cei mai norocosi i-au putut vedea ca guest stars la platane sambata seara la palatul bragadiru. speram ca discoballs sa-si aminteasca exact cum au cantat ultima piesa atunci cand o vor inregistra si ii vor da titlu pentru ca in flagranti s-au oferit sa o remixeze. si noi asteptam curiosi ce va fi la urmatorul joint.
catavencu ne-a anuntat din nou elegant, mtv.ro a avut o audienta de 500 vizitatori la transmisia live, amdraci a facut un set foto foarte elocvent&cobrasnake pentru atmosfera de acolo aici, medalioane pe urbanstyle si alte portrete pe tillate. un clip din setul superb al lui bogdan l-a filmat freshgoodminimal aici. daca aveti cumva alte poze&clipuri, le asteptam pe crissy.moran00@gmail.com si iulian.fecioru@gmail.com.

| in paris exista take away show care a adus o noua lumina fredonabila muzicii live, noi avem aici un live de ieri cu the amsterdams pe iarba in fatza tnb-ului, si prima concluzie e ca nu stam deloc prost, ba se poate simti si un miros de sena la un moment dat. plus ca genul acesta de hippiotzenie se potriveste foarte bine pieselor trupei care pe alocuri suna mai bine si mai cu seva decat on stage si asa iese si in evidenta si mai clar latura folk-bluesy americana pe care multi nu o vad la ei din cauza pieselor brit din repertoriu (vezi si coverurile fleet foxes si animal collective). se cer reluari ca soarele abia a inceput sa iasa. |

| 2009, Rinse. The relatively unknown DJ can be found hosting Rinse FM's Saturday afternoon show, where he focuses more on the hip-hop influenced side of the dubstep genre. Whereas some journalists have attempted to coin this sound as "wonky" due to the heavily swung beats, Nut is of a firm belief that all of the music that he plays is firmly rooted in hip-hop and soul. Nut carries the mandate of his radio show over to the Rinse: 08 compilation, mixing up cuts from Zomby, Joker, Hudson Mohawke and Flying Lotus over the mix's 22-track duration. After finishing the well received 'night falls', Ben Lukas Boysen's ambition for the next album was to be a desideratum's compliance: the improvement of hecq's sound, and moving forward into something boysen defines as an 'emotional destillate'. In hecq's opinion the importance of the tracks on cd1 lies in the skilful omission of the insignificant. although complex abstract rhythmic textures predominate during tracks 2 to 9 no 'scrolls' blocks the essence. The listener will be trapped in an extensive blend of idm, breakbeats, and even breakcore, complemented with the infusion of nebulo's mighty dark soundscapes and nongenetic's modified voice. it was well proposed by Boysen to choose the cd's title track to be remixed by a wide variety of artists. He sees 'steeltongued' as representative of hecq's work, so he was most curious about the results - the more contrast, the better, as he explains. Pana incepe sa curga cu recenzii una mai plastica decat alta sau alte elogii aduse rokofestivalului ce tocmai a trecut. Let's hear some highlights:
Cretea: "lindstorm – dansabil, nu am vazut chiar toti artistii, dar din cate am vazut asta mi-a placut cel mai mult".
Seagull: “vineri > 2562, eventual ! Larytta .....sambata: fix BOGDAN (imi pare rau pt văru' Lindstrom...dar nu s-a incadrat).....duminica: strict MOHA (pentru ca Fennesz a facut sa pare Black Sea-ul o fractiune de secunda...enervant de scurt)".
TFE: "eu am vazut doar Fennesz la festivalul asta. Mult prea scurt".
Utopic: "eu am fost doar sambata. Dar mi-a placut atat de tare incat nu stiu ce sa spun".

2009, Planet Mu. Veteran of Planet Mu, Irish born Barry Lynn returns with his latest installment in album form, Arecibo Message. The Arecibo message was beamed via frequency modulated radio waves into space at a ceremony to mark the remodeling of the Arecibo radio telescope on 16 November 1974. The album is thus a space voyage, a musical journey through the galaxy. This album sees Boxcutter ditching the computer sequencing and using lots of analogue synths, delays and guitar pedals to give an organic texture to the record. The album features more guitars and bass than previous records and influences such as Hendrix as well as 2 step Garage influences such as Wideboys are clear. A real trip of an album.

Low Fidelity Jet-Set Orchestra is a nu-jazz and cinematic core who dive aggressively into vintage sound of deep funk roots, bossa-nova excursions, and an overdose of Hammond stabs, licks, chops and grooves. There's certainly a fab 60s sort of sound to the group's music, but they also have a pretty stripped-down sound as well - much more mod deep funk than retro remix - with great keyboards in the lead on nearly every track! Their styles and rhythms are often like the best soundtrack instrumentals of the 60s and 70s - and although the keyboards really help augment this feel, the percussion is equally great - with lots of odd other bits besides drums, which really creates a nice sense of scene-changing between the tracks. 2009, 3024, EP. Martyn's 3024 imprint starts the year with two reconfigured rollers from fellow Dutchman Dave Huismans operating under his 2562 moniker. Huismans' remix of Martyn's 'Vancouver' was an absolute killer, so he's been drafted in to provide two more devastating ideas for the dubstepXtechno field, combining strains of mutant garage and dub techno finished with a glistening lacquer of hi-end production skills.
