2009, Leaf. Finnish composer Sasu Ripatti returns in late summer with Tummaa, his first album as Vladislav Delay since 2007s Whistleblower. The new album marks a significant shift in emphasis in this acclaimed musicians work, reflecting a renewed interest in jazz and acoustic performance: Tummaa is far more organic and live-sounding than anything hes done before. Entitled Tummaa, the album will showcase Ripatti's "introverted and slightly darker side," with Sasu explaining that "Tummaa means dark or darkness, which reflects the music on the album somehow but also the fact that I worked on the album during 'kaamos' time of the year in Finland. | poate cel mai important nume nou al dubstep-ului (din ramura melodica a bristolului numita purple, o prezentare excelenta o gasiti aici), numitul joker va aduce sound-ul lui inovator si la noi, pe 13 noiembrie, la hala. recentul mix de la sonar puteti sa-l ascultati aici, e fantastic. nici zomby nu e departe, se spune pe la colturi. |

dupa cum bine stim, nu mai e mult pana la primele soundcheck-uri pe cele 3 scene ale celui mai mare festival profi de muzica din ro. si cum ziua a doua ne surade cel mai mult prin combinatia ei de post-punk actual, psychedelic pop si techno ambiental sacru, impreuna cu prietenii de la emagic vom acorda 2 invitatii duble pentru 3 iulie celor care ne vor da cea mai amuzanta&inspirata fraza continand termenii "orbita, franz si claxoane". pe 1 iulie, ora 13, dam verdictul!

Bibio (aka Stephen Wilkinson) impressed early in 2009 with the lovely Vignetting the Compost, but he raised the bar just a few months later with his second full-length that year, Ambivalence Avenue. This is Bibio's Warp debut, and the label is a fitting home for his music: Vignetting's sweetly decaying sound bore the influence of Warp veterans Boards of Canada. However, Ambivalence Avenue's sound is markedly different than what came before it; its mix of breezy pop and creatively layered instrumental hip-hop sits comfortably between a couple of other Warp residents, Grizzly Bear and Flying Lotus. | The second album from London electronic duo Subway is hardcore in its repetitiveness, and it's given me the most joy of any music this year that isn't Kyle Hall or UK Funky. We're talking proper repetition here; none of the fancy, subtle squirming around that, say, minimal techno offers. Rather, Subway set up a dreamy loop of synths and let it roll and roll. Onwards into languid blissiness, as vintage keyboards blow bubbles and crooked techno beats slap along lazily, like waves hitting the side of a rowing boat. | 2009, Warp. Totem's Flare is Clark's sixth album to date, and acts as the third and final part of a trilogy begun with Body Riddle (2006) and continued with 2008's Turning Dragon. Though Totem's Flare shares a lot of the same sonic signatures as its predecessors, it represents a big step up for Clark as a producer. The amalgam of compressed sounds flows from track to track, conceiving a british, squerpusherish, warp feel to the entire release. | 2009, Planet Mu. Whilst the dubstep forums have had this one on their radar for a while, there's much more to this album than you usually find in a Croydon basement. With varying amounts of hip-hop, dubstep, soul and electronica, New York's Falty DL (aka Drew Lustman) has creating his own parallel world of cosmic love with Love Is A Liability. Previously releases on Napalm Enema and Ramp Records, the newest recruit to Plant Mu has his own sound that is a curse for journo's as one minute it's in one box and then another. | e un fapt straniu, dar de data aceasta colega noastra briana banks nu a fost prezenta weekendul trecut la obisnuita gala vivid awards din luxuriantul l.a., spre dezamagirea fanilor care o asteptau disperati cu confetti din carti de vizite pentru saloane de masaj. motivul e simplu, concursul de scenarii de scurt-metraj hbo, unde, yeah yeah yeahs, briana a intrat cu o poveste despre fascinant de amuzanta si ignorata lume a rockerilor romani din anii optzeci intitulata premonitoriu "trofeul oase-manciu". si cum trofeul trofeu cere, briana a si castigat cupa si campionatul sectiunii, multumind in gand, spun sursele mediumice, maestrului petre magdin si albinelor ucigase din plaiul foii. noi il felicitam cordial si il rugam ca acolo unde va ajunge sa nu uite de unii dintre noi, mai ales la casting. |

genul acesta de posturi sunt terifiant de rare pe internet, din pacate, dar cand apar ar trebui omagiate cu fanfare. cum e cazul articolului loving wonky care arata ca o dizertatie/lucrare de licenta la istoria artelor si muzicii contemporane si in care autorul face niste paralele savante intre estetica noilor staruri ale dubstepului (zomby, flying lotus, kode9) si estetica pictorilor de avangarda din secolul XX. cat de dement pot sa fii sa transcrii maniacal partitura unei piese de-a lui zomby si apoi sa demonstrezi similaritatile ei cu stilul lui kandisky?
p.s.: comparatia facila skream-munch vad ca nu a fost luata in seama totusi.
p.s.2: mi-as dori ca autorul sa faca o addenda in care analizand o piesa de-a lui trg sa ajunga sa-l compare cu marcel iancu.

| e atat de ironic sa descoperiri lucruri noi despre muzica din tara ta prin prisma unor straini obsedati de asta care-si expun admiratia pe site-uri cool. but, well, it happens. cum e cazul tobarului de pe unul din cele mai omagiate albume underground ale anilor nouazeci, care spune trist ca "Most Romanians have a real dislike for their own folk music, and would much rather listen to techno or heavy metal" si apoi ne face putina educatie si ne da trimite in banca, nota 2 cu un mini-mix elocvent. this is a fact. |

Stephen Vitiello is a long time collaborator and experimental music innovator and the interaction with Molly Berg, a vibrant multi-instrumentalist and singer, creates a melodic, repetitive, and exploratory album. The various elements of the performance meld to create an interesting if not a little unfocused album. | 2009, Bypass. Composed during a time of great flux and much movement on his part, he found the time to compose one of the most deep sounding albums in his current catalog. Crotch Fires! could be featured on any Warp Records compilation as its eary square waves chill the air next to the cut'n'paste downtempo beat that breaks up any chance to maintain a constant flow on the dance floor. Deathly Like Jazz heads into the more noise/glitch side of the album as the driving Hardcore sound of Driver MicroNaughts pounds the PATH further into you skull. | niste pusti belgieni, influentati de discurile cu atmosfera grava care veneau din anglia in magazinul de muzica preferat, s-au adunat la inceputul anilor optzeci sa faca o sesiune de inregistrari, piesele rezultate sa le scoata pe cateva viniluri si apoi sa se desfiinteze. a iesit cel putin o piesa capodopera iesita parca din depresia manchesterului si inca alte cateva aici (vezi si istoria trupei). |

The number of sonic ideas explored on assorted clips is astonishing, yet it all comes together to present a new vision of music production. The album contains tracks reminiscent of dilla era synth beats, while some vary from the formula and hit fringe niches. There's more than a few of the 27 tracks which I wish were longer than the average one minute that many of them run. The album is worth checking out if youre looking for some futuristic funky beats.
